Jakarta, August 7th, 2021 — KALM Circle is back for KALMers who want to share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. KALM Circle this time came with “Bertahan Bersama Covid-19 Support Group,” (Surviving Together with Covid-19 Support Group) as a theme. For KALMers who don’t know, KALM Circle is a space created by KALM for anyone who wants to be more open. In KALM Circle, you can share your experiences and support each other without worrying about being judged/ignored because you are accompanied by Kalmselor (Professional Counselor/Psychologist at KALM).
In the midst of the Covid 19 pandemic, KALM took part in the #WargaBantuWarga movement to help those in need. This is done by providing free support groups for health workers, people who have lost their family/relatives due to Covid-19, caregivers for Covid-19 patients, and patients/survivors of Covid-19. The goal of this event is to provide support and new perspectives for the participants as they are accompanied by experts. Through this event participants were expected to have a better understanding of how to manage and maintain mental health in the midst of a pandemic situation.
Participants were Accompanied by Kalmselors
This event, which was held online via Zoom, was opened directly by the Co-Founder of KALM, Karina Negara. In addition, several Kalmselors who were also present as companions at KALM Circle this time were Wenny Aidina, Nurfitriyanti Permata Putri, Grace Maretta, Poppy Nenta, Auliya Ulil, Herty Rita, Ayu R. Tirto, and Lady Christanti. After the opening, the participants were divided into several groups to share their thoughts and feelings with each other for approximately two hours.
KALM Circle received satisfactory feedback from the participants. They said that they learnt new skills that can be used daily. They also claimed that they felt safe telling their feelings and thoughts because they were well-accompanied and well-listened to by the Kalmselors. Wow, thank you so much Kalmselors! Hopefully this event can be helpful for everyone involved!
